Environmental Planning Services
We provide environmental planning advice to a broad cross section of our clients. Our involvement can range from inputs on capital programmes to appointment to term consultancy frameworks, as well as site and project specific appointments. Strategic environmental planning advice is provided to government agencies, planning authorities as well as private developers, where involvement includes sustainability and option appraisals Consultation and attention to procedures are fundamental to our work and achieving planning consent with acceptable conditions and without judicial challenge. Our expertise includes planning application servicing, liaising with planning authorities, exhibition coordination and material provision, and advice on all stages of the EIA and planning process.
Strategic Environmental Assessment is the application of environmental assessment procedures to a wide range of plans and programmes likely to have significant environmental effects.
Sustainability Appraisal extends the process of SEA to integrate social, economic and environmental considerations into the preparation of local and regional planning documents. We can advise on the likely requirements for plans and programmes from local to national level, and manage and coordinate SEA and SA/AoS work to ensure that strategically significant environmental and sustainability issues are identified and addressed at an early stage in development planning.
Consideration of the environmental implications of different options to meet a development objective can and should begin at project inception. We can use our extensive experience to undertake the assessment of project options, including of alternative locations, routes, strategies, to assist the formulation of development strategies at this crucial stage.
We have extensive experience of the whole development planning process, from pre-application consultations, to the submission of planning applications, and through to the discharging of planning conditions. Key staff have experience of coordinating, preparing and presenting evidence at Public Inquiries for a range of developments.
