Site Waste Management Plans (SWMP’s) are the result of government legislation to encourage a reduction in the amount of waste produced on construction sites by law. The plans are made up of structured criteria which enable waste producers to consider how they produce and manage waste.

SWMP’s have been in force in England since April 2008. However in Scotland, Northern Ireland, & Wales SWMPs are not yet a criminal enforcement although a SWMP will help businesses to manage waste materials professionally and efficiently. This consequently helps businesses to minimize waste production and less waste subsequently equals large cost savings.
