Expertise In Effluent Treatment Projects

Industries like Textiles, Leather tannery, Paper, Chemicals, Coal Washeries etc are all water intensive and also generate large volumes of effluent. Many of these industries are adopting water-recycling systems due to environmental regulations and scarcity of water. As treating the effluent for recycling is faced with significant challenges, opportunities exist for implementing such projects. To help the industries in complying with the necessary Pollution Control Board Norms, IWL has built up a considerable in – house expertise for implementing Effluent treatment projects. IL&FS Water Business Group is currently developing a number of new initiatives. These projects are in the water management, water conservation/reuse and environmental compliance areas. Once implemented and commissioned all these projects would represent ‘benchmark’ projects in the effluent treatment sector. Some of these projects are : Textile industrial effluent treatment project on a Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) Basis at Tirupur, Tamilnadu for the Textile units at a cost of Rs. 4500 mn. Tannery Lather effluent treatment project on a Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) Basis at Ambur/Vaniyambadi, Tamilnadu for the Leather Tannery units at a cost of Rs. 900 mn. Implementation of integrated textile wastewater management project for textile clusters at Sanganer.
