Environmental Recovery System (ERS)

JBS manufacture the patented ERS system for sale or lease, we also provide operation and maintenance services. The objective of the ERS fluid treatment system is to enhance the environmental profile and reduce the volume of waste materials at source. ERS minimises the waste by returning the treated water back to the environment. At the same time ERS recycles the solids and oil for re-use.

ERS is designed to separate the solids from the water and oil, pot ale, waste sludge, etc. Solids will be left as a powder for reuse or landfill recreation. With the contaminents removed the water is ready for safe disposal.  Examples for the ERS include:

Whisky Industry – productively dewaters both the solid and liquid waste streams from the distillery process. The solids fraction, draff, generally contains up to 70% water and is processed and turned into animal feed and or food grade proteins. The liquid pot ale on the other hand, contains up to 95% water, this is processed to remove the water content to allow for safe environmental discharge.

Waste Water Industry – productively dewaters the residue known as ‘sludge cake’ to allow the water to undergo further treatment for reuse or discharge. The solids fraction (generally 18-35%) is processed and turned into pellet shaped granular fuel. This process results in renewable energy generation, helping to shape a lower carbon future.

Aquaculture Industry – ERS provides a method to process the waste products in an environmentally friendly way. ERS productively separates oily slops to recover valuable by-products including reusable oil, inert solids and clean water.

Oil & Gas Industry – designed to process the waste streams from drilling activities in an environmentally friendly way. ERS productively separates oily slops to recover valuable by-products including: • Reusable oil – for use in rig mud systems or as process fuel • Inert solids – for use in the construction industry and/or compliant disposal • Clean water – for disposal to onshore sewage systems or to sea.
