Feasibility Services
Ensure that you have a successful application of a hydrophilic coating on your device/product by leveraging our decades of experience and deep knowledge of coating chemistry. Our experience allows us to tailor approaches (and if needed, the coating chemistry) to enable successful coating of even the most challenging devices. Pricing and timeline is specific to your application and requirements. Duration of the work is generally 5-10 days and costs are considered extremely reasonable based on customer feedback.
What do you get with this service?
- Specific hydrophilic coating solution recommended (or a custom coating chemistry and pricing)
- Feasibility demonstration of coating
- A pre-agreed upon number of coated pieces for your testing that we expect to meet your general performance requirements.
If you have a very unique application that leads us to believe you may require a custom coating chemistry, or we suspect that a lubricious hydrophilic coating may not be successful for your application, this will be communicated to you in advance and as part of the quote. We work to be as transparent as possible so there’s no surprises.
You:
- Work through the requirements assessment to understand your needs. We’ll help you if needed.
- Determine how many pieces you’ll want sent back to you for your own testing. We generally recommend five (5).
- Provide us with this information.
We:
- Analyze the information you provide to assess feasibility, likely hydrophilic coating chemistry needed, and whether or not a primer is needed.
- We review your performance requirements and test methodology and determine how many pieces we may need to use to determine the best solution for your application. This plus the number of pieces you want back for testing will be the number of pieces we request in our statement of work.
- We document how we will test the coated pieces before we send them back to you. Our goal is to always replicate the tests you indicated in your coating requirements to the best of our ability to judge coating performance.
- Provide you a statement of work, quote, and estimated duration.
