First Advantage is a certified FBI Channeler and approved for submitting fingerprints to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), allowing us to process tens of thousands of fingerprints annually on behalf of companies nationwide. Additionally, First Advantage provides non-channeling outsourcing services for employers when needed. Offering the industry’s most flexible solution, First Advantage provides the SAFE Internal Fingerprinting Network (SIFN) where prints are collected using either client-owned equipment, or through our network of hundreds of collection locations across the nation with the SAFE Outsourced Fingerprinting Network (SOFN).

Our proprietary collection method, the SAFEWeb Thin Client process, ensures the utmost protection of applicants’ personally identifying information (PII). In addition to capturing and submitting prints, First Advantage also works with our clients to ensure the special handling and retention rules required by the FBI are followed, promoting compliance and consistency across their programs.

First Advantage’s fingerprinting service is one part of our complete suite of talent acquisition solutions that puts pertinent hiring data at our clients’ fingertips through an integrated case management system, allowing employers the ability to manage screening results in an FCRA and FBI CJIS compliant manner. First Advantage is unique in the industry in offering employers a single, comprehensive and integrated solution that provides background investigations, substance abuse testing, fingerprinting and I-9/employment eligibility capabilities.

The SAFE System
Our proven safeweb System eliminates manual processes, tedious paperwork and tracking headaches traditionally associated with paper-based fingerprint cards that are mailed into the designated channeling agent(s). The safeweb is revolutionizing the collection and management of fingerprint data for electronic submissions.

Case Management Solutions
First Advantage offers employers two options for handling secure Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) returned from the FBI as a result of a fingerprint search. Unique to the industry, this case management functionality provides employers the ability to have First Advantage handle the complete adjudication of the returned results, or provides a flexible workbench for employers wishing to adjudicate results themselves.

First Advantage is able to process the CHRI data returned from the FBI and combine it with additional data such as standard criminal checks, employment and education verifications and other background data to return a Pass or Fail adjudication based on the employer’s grading criteria. First Advantage can then provide the final results directly to the candidate or to the employer for handling.

For employers who wish to handle adjudication internally, First Advantage provides a comprehensive Case Management Workbench, included in First Advantage’s screendirect background screening platform which includes:

  • Enabling the employer’s centralized decision-making team to have access to all the information necessary to make a hiring decision including consent forms, employment application, drug test results, background check results and fingerprint results (CHRI).
  • Providing multiple layers of administrative access to restrict viewing of sensitive CHRI data to only those with the authority to do so.
  • Providing a method for ordering county criminal or other necessary searches to determine final disposition of CHRI data.
  • Providing user definable response letters to inform hiring managers and/or recruiters of the PASS/FAIL hiring decision.
  • Automatically developing and housing all of an individual applicant’s case notes as a single composite audit record in case of a future audit.
  • Automatically tracking all applicant cases entered into the system, enterprise-wide for quick, easy reference in the event of duplicate applications.

Full Access and Reporting
As a candidate completes the enrollment and fingerprint capture process via the SAFE system the record becomes available for tracking and reporting purposes. From this point through the tracking of clearance reports, system administrators on your staff have secure Web access into the SAFE systems. This allows you to monitor every step of the process. Your administrators can see which candidates have completed their registration and had their fingerprints captured. They can also see whose fingerprints are pending and whose have received clearance reports via a Web-based, real-time “dashboard view.” The applicant’s results are posted usually within 24-48 hours.
