Forensic Investigation and Remediation Plan Services
A successful forensic investigation and remediation plan starts with a clear understanding of why and how a building failed in its planned usage. Operating since 1968, Raba Kistner Consultant’s (RKCI) knowledge of regional surface conditions and construction practices gives us a unique insight into geotechnical failures and the experience to develop cost-effective solutions. Since tomorrow’s projects will be even more technically sophisticated, RKCI develops forensic studies that serve clients’ short- and long-term objectives for performance, efficiency, and cost-containment.
Our team of forensic engineers combines geotechnical expertise with emerging technology to develop causations and remedial measures for a variety of issues. Reasons for studies range from distressed foundations to retaining walls and slopes, failed pavements, and roads. Accidental discharges of water, including sewer leaks, pool leaks, and drainage failures are also examined. As foundation repair methods can be costly, proper evaluation of the causation of soil movements is critical to develop the best, most cost-effective solutions.
RKCI has specialized equipment and sampling devices that can obtain soil samples in areas with limited access. Our in-house, versatile instrumentation capabilities allow us to test distressed materials, evaluate the cause(s) of distress, and develop remedial measures. For almost four decades, our professionals have conducted many forensic investigations for our clients’ projects and have provided expert witness testimony when needed.
Forensic Services include:
- Soil Movement-Induced Damage
- Foundation Movement
- Pavement Failures
- Accidental Discharge of Water
- Dispute/Litigation Support and Expert Testimonhy
