Delphi’s GHG Management services have been developed through years of extensive project experience working collaboratively with hundreds of clients – large and small. In fact, we have been developing GHG management strategies longer than any other Canadian consultancy and our experience enables us to effectively design, develop and implement GHG management strategies that are proven to reduce costs, liabilities and future risks while enhancing profitability, stakeholder relations, competitiveness and shareholder value.

We know from experience that every client starts from a different position with different needs and objectives. As a result, our GHG management services have been designed to offer ‘a menu of activities’ to choose from, with the ultimate mix and order of activities chosen determined by your unique needs and circumstances.

1. Calculate GHG Inventory
The objective of this step it to calculate your GHG inventory (carbon footprint) and meet the requirements of recognized accounting standards and the needs of your business.

The process of preparing a GHG inventory is typically an iterative one and we often prepare an initial ‘draft’ inventory to support early strategy discussions. Once high‐level strategy objectives are defined, we will then complete a more robust inventory calculation to meet the needs as defined by the strategy discussion.

Delphi also have experience with GHG inventories (footprints) for supply chains, events and product lifecycles.

2. Identify Risks and Opportunities
The objective of this step is to identify the risks (e.g. reputational, financial, regulatory, etc.) and opportunities (process efficiencies, enhanced brand, new revenue streams [offsets], etc.) related to your GHG emissions and create a roadmap for action.

Identifying risks & opportunities ensures your GHG Management Strategy addresses the risks and leverages the opportunities the continued and long-term success of your GHG management efforts.

3. Assess Options and Setting Targets
The overall objective of this step is to assess the emissions reduction and internal abatement options available to your company and define the overall objectives of your GHG Management Strategy. This step will define the key objectives, targets and milestones of your GHG Management Strategy and the resources required to successfully implement the strategy defined.

4. Develop Management Framework
The overall objective of this step is to develop a management system framework – including policies, procedures, roles, responsibilities, KPIs, and training requirements ‐ that will enable your company to meet the objectives, targets and milestones set and ultimately ensure the successful implementation, and continuous improvement, of your GHG Management Strategy.

5. Develop a Communications Plan
Engaged stakeholders will maximize the success of your corporate GHG Management Strategy!

The objective of this step is to engage your internal and external stakeholders sufficiently to ensure the success or your GHG Management Strategy.

This step is designed to ensure that your GHG Management Strategy and actions are supported by effective communication plans that involve all the internal and external stakeholders necessary for success.
