Graffiti Protection with ETFE Tape
Protecting surfaces against soiling or graffiti with a protective cover is standard procedure. The lotus effect of, for example, protective paints is one way to facilitate the cleaning of soiled areas. Another is the pasting with sacrificial surfaces, so multi-layered films that can be gradually removed from the loaded areas. The cleaning of building walls, facilities in the public street or on the railways consumes millions each year.
An innovative approach is anti-adhesive films. A prerequisite for a dirt-repellent effect is a particularly low surface energy. Similar to PTFE (Teflon from DuPont), ETFE films have an extremely resistant surface. As a result, paint or stickers can hardly anchor and can easily be washed off again. The transparent ETFE CMC 77701 adhesive tape is therefore ideal for extremely durable, virtually invisible surface protection.
Thanks to its film thickness of 100μm, the CMC 77701 adhesive tape is extremely robust. The relatively soft film is very stretchy and does not crack even after puncturing or notching. The material meets flammability class B1. The adhesive used guarantees good adhesion and residue-free removal from most surfaces even after many years of outdoor weathering.
Advantages of CMC 77700 ETFE adhesive film as graffiti protection:

Protective films based on CMC 77700 ETFE adhesive tape can be used eg for
- Protective foils for signs and traffic signs
- Protection of glazing in shelters
- Protection of exterior surfaces of vehicles
- Protection of building surfaces from colors and stickers
- Protective film for large-format prints for outdoor use
Surfaces finished with CMC 77701 ETFE tape are resistant to contamination. The removal of colors or labels with permanent markers, glued labels or stickers is possible without much effort. Since ETFE film achieves its repellent properties through the substrate, the effect does not weaken over time, as with many "lotus effect" coatings. ETFE retains its excellent protective properties even after using aggressive chemicals.
