Hazardous Waste Management Service
Provided technical support in the permitting and closure of incinerator used to process hazardous and solid wastes at an industrial facility in Illinois. The incinerator was subjected to closure under the Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA) regulations for processing hazardous wastes. Assisted the industrial facility in obtaining a permit to continue use of the incinerator to process solid wastes.
Assisted an industrial facility in the negotiations with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) for the exclusion of paint filter wastes from their classification as hazardous wastes. The paint filter wastes were originally classified by PADEP as hazardous waste based on contact with a listed waste as regulated under the "mixed rule".
Assisted city authorities in de-listing a superfund site contaminated with solvent contaminants in Missouri. The project consisted of conducting geophysical investigations, installation of monitoring and recovery wells, and negotiations with the regulatory agencies.
