In their quest to maximize revenues, owners of large hydro plants invest significant resources to dispatch their plants in an optimal fashion across all power markets. Typically, a team of 20 to 50 energy industry experts work around the clock using licensed forecasting & optimization software to ensure that their generation assets are producing in an optimal fashion under ever-changing market and environmental circumstances. This leaves smaller players – who cannot access the same level of resources – at a competitive disadvantage in the power markets. With the Full Service Optimization Package, HYDROGRID aims to level the playing field by providing smaller generators with a full-service solution that reaches (and in some parts exceeds) the level of sophistication typically applies by the largest producers (such as turbine best-point-optimization).
INDIVIDUAL MODELLING AND OPTIMIZATION OF EACH PLANT
Based on a detailed hydrological modelling of your plant as well as our high-precision price forecast, HYDROGRID will derive the optimal dispatch and sales strategy for your flexible power plant across all power markets. Our integrated optimization technology hereby allows us to tailor results individually to each plant: Depending on the storage volume of your plant, we apply the necessary long-, mid- and short-term forecasting and optimization procedures (spanning a planning horizon from years to only hours into the future) to ensure that you create maximal value from your production.
OPTIMAL SALE ACROSS ALL POWER MARKETS
Based on the plant-specific optimal dispatch and sales strategy, HYDROGRID then effectuates the physical sale across all power markets (e.g. Nordpool, EPEX, …) in an optimal way. All necessary power market operations, including the billing & margining with the power exchange, scheduling of production with the transmission system operator (TSO) and the settlement & clearing of imbalances are also carried out for you on a daily basis as part of this full-service package at a fixed price that is competitive even for the smallest power plants.
FULLY AUTOMATED INTERFACES
In order to receive all necessary status data (such as reservoir levels) and to effectuate the correct dispatch of the commercialized generation, HYDROGRID can interface directly with your plant control / SCADA system so that the optimal dispatch of your plant happens in a fully automated fashion. All interfaces necessary to enable daily automated optimization, dispatch & commercialization will be implemented by HYDRORID at no additional cost to you. As a result, the daily optimal planning, dispatch and sale of power of your flexible plant is carried out in a fully automated fashion without the need to apply any additional resources from your side so that you can focus on what is most important to you: The optimal performance of your portfolio.
