Indoor Air Quality and Safety Services
We charged Europe's leading Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) specialists, the UK's Building Research Establishment (BRE), to independently ensure that our technology and products meet, by a wide margin, all national and international regulatory safety standards, and where no such standards exist, fall well within worldwide best practice consensus standards, including those advised by the World Health Organisation (WHO), the US FDA and EPA and the EU.
Details
BRE have comprehensively tested our technology and products for the full range of potential IAQ impacts and have confirmed that, without exception, all Airora products fall well within all established safety regulations, standards and guidelines.
By-products of the hydroxyl cascade creation process
Testing by BRE and York University has specifically identified all by-products of Airora's hydroxyl cascade creation process and has confirmed that none are known to be hazardous.
Hydroxyls
Humans, animals, and plants have evolved over millennia to co-exist with hydroxyls and their reaction by-products. Atmospheric hydroxyls cannot enter the blood stream or tissues within the body, because skin and mucosal membranes have evolved to provide a protective barrier.
While hydroxyls are technically a highly regulated 'biocide', in that they kill viruses and bacteria, the regulatory authorities in the EU / UK and the USA recognise that hydroxyls are intrinsically safe and have approved their use for air cleaning purposes.
The outdoor intensity of hydroxyls varies, but is typically lower at the polls and higher in the tropics. Airora's technology creates a hydroxyl cascade indoors at the lower end of the natural scale, as typically occurs in temparate climes.
