Details
The workplace is a common area for SBS (Sick Building Syndrome). Today's construction capabilities make it possible to eliminate any fresh air intake to a building. Construction on old foundations, leaking sewers, moisture issues, and improper chemical disposal can serve to create an atmosphere that will adversely affect the very young, the very aged, the highly sensitive, and in extreme levels, even the healthy adult.
Building Related Illness (BRI) can be found in both public structures and private homes. Symptoms displayed by employees or family members should be quickly addressed and not dismissed.

MOLD SERVICES (INDOOR AIR QUALITY)
HydroTech is often called upon to conduct mold inspections when mold or mildew is visible to the consumer or when the onset of chronic health problems in one or more individuals seems to coincide with moving into a new or changed environment. Mold is just one of the possible culprits, although one of the more common ones, in 'Sick Building Syndrome.' Mold need not be visible to the naked eye in order to affect the air quality in a building.
WHAT IS MOLD?
Mold spores are continually floating in the air, but can become problematic when they settle upon a moist, hospitable environment. They can begin reproducing and growing at a rapid rate, digesting whatever they have landed on in order to survive. When excessive moisture or water accumulates indoors, mold growth will often occur, particularly if the moisture problem remains undiscovered or un-addressed. Molds produce allergens, irritants, and potentially toxic substances which can have an adverse effect on health.
HOW DOES IT AFFECT YOU?
Inhaling or touching mold spores may cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals, ranging from hay-fever type symptoms to fatigue and dizziness. Mold can trigger attacks in individuals with asthma. Extended contact with certain molds can result in chronic sinus problems, headaches, and mental confusion.
HOW CAN HYDROTECH HELP?
HydroTech provides site inspections for mold and mildew, and if necessary, can sample the air for laboratory analysis or speciation.
