SCE is experienced with all of the following standard UN test methods that are required to properly classify their safety and performance:

To determine whether a material is an extremely insensitive explosive article, SCE conducts Series 7 tests and any candidate for Division 1.6 should pass one of each of the ten types of tests comprising the series (listed below).

The first six types of test (7 (a) to 7 (f)) are used to establish if a substance is an Extremely Insensitive Detonating Substance (EIDS)and the remaining four types of test (7 (g), 7 (h), 7 (j) and 7 (k)) are used to determine if an article containing an EIDS (s) may be assigned to Division 1.6.

SCE conducts these tests at our Forreston Test Facility, which can handle up to 100 lb. of detonable or explosive substances. SCE has both open air and bunkered test areas to accommodate these tests.
