As a result of its competence and expertise also in designing special systems for people transportation, Agudio’s activity is not limited just to rope-hauled systems for material transport, but includes hybrid installations for the transport of materials and people, ideal solutions to facilitate the access of personnel and equipment to sites difficult to reach by road, such as hydroelectric power plants.
Bespoke rope-hauled systems developed to meet very specific needs, such as a transportation system for crash test carriages in the automotive sector or the generation of artificial waves, have been designed and implemented thanks to the know-how and creativity of Agudio’s engineers and technicians.
Funiculars are a safe and reliable means of transport, working in any weather condition, such as snow, ice and strong wind, and for this reason are often used next to penstocks to connect the top and bottom stations of hydroelectric power plants, or in quarries to transport big blocks of marble or granite, as well as in mines to transport heavy loads.
The main features of this type of systems are: wide array of customization options, possibility to design lines with variable climb speed angle, possibility to make horizontal curves, possibility to have hybrid carriers - partly open and partly closed, possibility to be installed safely inside tunnels.
Cableways are normally used to transport people in the mountains, but these systems are fit also for material transportation to poorly accessible areas, e.g. to transport machinery during the construction of industrial plants or during inspection and maintenance operations.
Hybrid cableways can be designed with one or two cabins and the possibility to replace the cabin with a basket or a winch for the transportation of loose material or heavy loads.
