Deutsches Institut für Normung e. V. (DIN)
International Consultation Services
Being active in the field of technical development and cooperation, DIN`s International Consultation Services (IBD) supports the set up and the optimization standards bodies and standardization systems in developing, emerging and transitional countries. By strengthening national standardization infrastructures, our aim is to promote economic development, facilitate global trade, foster technology transfer, and give an additional impetus to innovation and research. The countries we assist thus gain access to the European Economic Area and the global market. Our work also benefits the German economy as a whole: Exports to these countries will be made easier because the standardization infrastructures we set up are oriented towards internationally accepted ground rules. Imports will be of goods and services produced according to internationally developed and nationally implemented standards. Furthermore, our economy will gain an impulse for drawing up our own strategies by seeing innovation and research results reflected in standards, particularly in the emerging economies
