Nationwide Legionella Risk Assessment service. A complete solution. What the Health & Safety Commission says.A suitable and sufficient assessment is required to identify and assess the risk of exposure to legionella from work activities and water systems on the premises. In conducting the risk assessment, the person on whom the statutory duty falls is required to have access to competent help regarding the risks of exposure of legionella in the water systems present in the premises and the necessary control measures.IWS, for more than 20 years, has been providing legionella risk assessments to industry, NHS estates, local authorities, MOD and commercial building owners.
Get your priorities right
A comprehensive document is produced with includes survey data, observations (including photographs), risk rating and recommendations to reduce the risk. Options include legionella and microbiological analysis and AutoCAD™ schematic drawings.
As part of the assessment, IWS will detail recommended precautionary measures to reduce the overall risk which include management responsibility, training and paperwork systems as well as system maintenance, refurbishment and routine monitoring and inspection.
All recommendations are prioritised on the basis of their effect on the overall risk rating so that subsequent action produces the maximum risk reduction. Because we understand the increasing pressure on budgets, our system will ensure that money spent on high priority actions will produce the maximum benefit in terms of risk reduction.
IWS legionella risk assessment data is captured by the IWS risk assessor on a hand held PDA, the data is transferred via the GPRS mobile phone network and following supervisor sign-off is viewable via the IWS Online Report Tracker System. Because the data is held in database format the complete document can be viewed or reports run to show data for individual asset types, photographs, report exceptions. Reporting by exception means that just the out of spec findings and recommended remedial actions can be viewed.
