Maintenance Services
Regular servicing and maintenance will ensure that your solar PV system is operating correctly and performing to its maximum capacity. The servicing and maintenance we offer comprises a full system inspection, with the system operation and performance checked. Each system is individually designed according to its location, size and complexity. Please call or email over your system details for a detailed quotation.
Major service (once every 12 months)
- Visual inspection of the panels for any damage and to assess whether cleaning is required.
- Check of a representative sample of panel fixings to ensure they are secure and free from corrosion.
- Check of a representative sample of roof fixings to ensure they are secure and free from corrosion.
- Check of a representative sample of mounting frames to ensure they are secure and free from corrosion.
- Check that electrical connections are secure, clean, undamaged and free from corrosion.
- Check that AC and DC cables and compression glands are secure and, undamaged.
- Check that all earth bonding points are secure and free from corrosion.
- Test of the earth connection to ensure that it complies with regulations.
- Check to ensure that the system is adequate labelling and no safety labels are missing.
- Test the voltage and current of each string.
- Open and short testing of the isolation transformer.
- Check that the MaxVisio monitoring device is operating correctly.
- Check of each inverter to ensure that it is operating correctly.
- Check of each inverter’s status display and log for current and past error codes.
- Check of each inverter for external wear and tear and/or physical damage.
- If required, removal of any dirt/dust deposits on any inverter’s air vents, filters/screens and/or the cooling fins of inverter’s heat sinks using a soft brush as per manufacturers’ advice.
- If required, inverter’s casings and displays will be cleaned with a damp cloth as per manufacturers’ advice.
- A written report on the system performance and condition, including any repairs required, will be provided after the service.
Here at SunGift we can offer an Operations & Maintenance contract on most systems that we install. Each system will be individually designed and will require a different level of service depending on the technology installed. Some systems will require maintenance to ensure maximum yields are retained; others may be to uphold certain warranties on individual components. In each case we can discuss the optimum level required for the most economical outlay.
We have extensive knowledge in solar PV systems and we often undertake O&M service contracts on systems installed by others.
