Mine-workings & Ground Stabilisation Services
Sirius delivers its stabilisation services across the UK and Mainland Europe, primarily as a design and build, Drilling and Grouting contractor but also providing, Slope Stabilisation, Soil Nailing and Ground Anchor solutions. Mineral extraction in the UK dates back to Roman times and can result in a legacy of abandoned shallow mine workings. Coal, Ironstone, Sandstone, Limestone and Metaliferrous minerals have all been mined at depths that can, and do, interact with and destabilise the surface.
Sirius has extensive experience of developing cost effective management strategies to investigate and treat mine- workings and ensure the stability of sites affected by mine-workings.
Our projects invariably integrate treatment works within an overall enabling works package required for development at a site.
When we work in a design and build context our involvement usually begins with the development of conceptual designs and outline assessment of the abnormal costs for development or the treatment costs for existing developments. We provide these as integral parts of our overall service.
We deliver all our projects using our own plant, equipment and resources and our contracts are usually delivered as Design and Build fixed price lump sum or where appropriate on a re-measure basis.
