Mining Risk Management

For the world`s largest mineral resources company, PCCI performs response readiness assessments and conducts emergency management training courses and exercises for minerals exploration, production, and transportation operations located throughout the Americas/Caribbean region.  Working directly with one of the operating companies, PCCI developed the regional emergency management plan that became a model for the entire company to use across all business units, throughout all areas of operations.  PCCI also works directly with company`s coal, copper, nickel, gold, uranium, phosphate, diamonds, and petroleum operations and assets to advance emergency response readiness.  This effort requires annual training and exercises at each of the primary assets, as well as at the regional management team locations. 

The training and exercises cover a wide range of assignments, from tactical response at the field level all the way through the most strategic actions that are considered at the senior management level.  Training courses teach the effective application of the Incident Management System and the proper relationship of Emergency Management to Business Continuity.  Realistic and challenging exercises are designed, conducted, and evaluated throughout the company business units and assets.Such training is extended to joint venture partners, strategic contractors, and relevant government agencies.
