Ever increasing environmental awareness and legislation is demanding that oily sludge is treated at source, as it is no longer acceptable for it to be sent to land filling lagoons. ETC has designed a range of mobile processing equipment which enables sludge to be treated at tank/lagoon side, recovering oil and minimizing waste. Pre-treatment of sludge is key to high quality separation. ETC has a variety of systems tailored to meet the specific contract requirements.The focus of the sludge processing system is on returning the valuable recovered hydrocarbons to the refinery, ensuring that they are not sent off site. In some cases the high oil content in the sludge, combined with the quality of the oil that can be separated by our system, can result in the projects being self-funding or offering a payback.
ISC is a constantly designing a range of centrifuge technology to deal with a variety of difficult to treat sludge, ranging from tight emulsions containing fine particles, biological sludge, through to high solids contaminated sludge. This unique technology provides high quality and effective separation of this difficult waste product into three phases:
- Oil with 2% BS&W or less.
- Water 1 % Oil/Solids .
- Dry Sediment 1 % Leachable Free Oil.
These are typical achievable qualities which can be improved if required, by the addition of appropriate secondary treatment.
