Odor and Related VOC Emissions Control
Odor and Related VOC Emission Control Strategies for Large Scale Compost Operations. For turned-windrow composting operations: For compost operations using a windrow turning machine, CV Compost has partnered with the manufacturer of the most cost-effective, easy to use method available to reduce unpleasant odors and associated VOC emissions. Instead of masking odors with mist or fogging systems that are expensive both to install and to operate, our method utilizes a combination of simple operational modifications (primarily reduced turning frequency) and a proprietary additive which is specifically designed to both encourage the growth of beneficial microbes while discouraging the growth of microbes that produce the unpleasant odors and related VOC emissions.

This technologically advanced and environmentally ...
This technologically advanced and environmentally safe additive is simply mixed with water and then sprayed onto feedstocks and/or active piles which results in rapid and measurable reductions in odors and related VOC emissions. Additional benefits of this technology include improved product quality and reduced production costs since reduced turning frequency also significantly reduces labor, equipment wear, and fuel consumption.
For Static-Aerated (Forced Air) Composting Operations:
For compost operations using static-aerated piles, CV Compost has partnered with the manufacturers of two different odor control strategies. One of these strategies utilizes a specialized micro-porous compost cover which is used in combination with POSTIVE-flow forced aeration. The other odor and VOC control strategy uses a removable bladder and NEGATIVE-flow forced aeration and a bio-filter. As needed, the additives described above can also be used to improve the performance of these two static-aerated composting methods.
