Onsite water reuse systems collect, treat and reuse a building’s wastewater locally instead of sending used water to a centralized municipal system for treatment. The collected wastewater is stored onsite then filtered and cleaned using a multi-step treatment process that include membrane filtration, UV treatment and chlorine disinfection to remove impurities and contaminants. Once treated, recycled water, or reclaimed water, can be reused in the property for a variety of non-potable (non-drinking) purposes, like in irrigation, toilet and urinal flushing, clothes washing, ornamental water features like fountains, and in cooling tower HVAC systems.
