Our most frequent service is the oil tank replacement that consists of the following basic steps:

  • Pump out the existing oil to a temporary holding tank.
  • moval and recycling of the redundant tank.
  • Installation of a new oil tank and tank base.
  • Connect the new tank to the existing oil feed pipe.
  • Transfer the oil into the new oil tank.
  • Bleed the oil feed pipe and test the system.

With oil tank replacement and new installations we carry out an on-site survey to discuss your requirements, give an ‘Oil Storage Risk Assessment’ and explain how to comply with the current oil storage regulations. In most cases we will be able to provide an on the spot written quotation for the work proposed.

Other services include:

  • Emergency containment.
  • Temporary tank rental and fuel transfer.
  • Relocation of oil tanks.
  • Installation of the oil feed pipe.
  • Pressure testing of oil pipe to check the integrity.
  • Installation of remote or extended filling pipes.
  • Replacement of valves, gauges and site tubes.
  • Removal and recycling of redundant tanks and any remaining oil.
  • Testing for and removal of water in an oil tank followed by treatment of the remaining oil.
  • Installation of fire screens and barriers.

Our standard tank service (we recommend every two years) includes a visual inspection of the tank and pipe work, clearing of the oil feed pipe with compressed air followed by leak pressure testing of the pipe, cleaning or replacing oil filters and a water dip test to see if any water is present in the oil which can be a costly experience. When water gets in to the burner unit, it can cause mechanical damage, repair bills and no hot water or heating until it’s repaired.

All our work is carried out by fully trained and OFTEC qualified engineers, so you can be sure of a high standard of workmanship.
