IIP has laboratories to measure-determine physical-mechanical and chemical features of products made of different materials. These laboratories are accredited by Accredia (National system for the accreditation of certification and inspection bodies). By Packaging  characterization laboratory, tests are performed on products realized with different materials destined to contact with food. Legislation on food packaging has gone through a constant and quick update, also due to greater attention and sensibility by the parts involved, final consumers – users, food production companies and/or large-scale retail trade.
