Plans for Prevention and Management of Construction and Demolition Waste

Decree-Law No. 46/2008, of 12 March, sets the rules for management of construction and demolition waste. This law states that all public contracts of construction or demolition projects require the development and implementation of a Plan for Prevention and Management of Construction and Demolition Waste. These plans should allow wastes to be sorted on site, the existence of a appropriate packaging system, the incorporation of part of the wastes produced on site and that they are sent to environmentally appropriate destinations.
