Züblin Umwelttechnik GmbH

Plant Test Service

SHARE

Test plant for groundwater remediation with 100 percent renewable energy supply, Bavaria. It also works without an aggregate or conventional power supply: Long-term pumping tests are being carried out on a former lamprophyre quarry, where mineral oils, metal waste, sewage sludge and hazardous waste such as metal sludge were stored between 1945 and 1970, as a pilot test for a potential future safety measure, with energy being supplied via PV modules and a power storage unit.

Water is to be continuously extracted from a well over a test period of 6-7 months for later input of a tracer agent and treated for infiltration using a purification plant.

Additional pressure probes and data loggers are installed in 15 surrounding groundwater measuring points to continuously and automatically record the water levels. The original planning envisaged a self-sufficient emergency power supply, as there was no power connection in the immediate vicinity. Züblin Umwelttechnik GmbH realized the self-sufficient power supply through the use of photovoltaic systems and storage units.
