As an accredited re-processor, Smurfit Kappa Recycling can provide you with a Packaging Recovery Note (PRN) for each tonne of material we recycle. Current UK packaging recovery legislation makes producers responsible for the recovery or recycling of packaging materials after use. It applies to businesses that handle more than 50 tonnes of packaging per year and have a turnover of £2m or more. Organisations that produce, import, fill or sell packaging or packaged products should check annually whether they pass the two thresholds and need to comply.
