The aim of the PutkiremonttiPlus service model is to conduct replumbing projects in a resident-driven way, ensuring that shareholders and residents can make their voices heard. From the start, the projects have a project manager and information officer assigned to them to guarantee a controlled progress and to ensure the provision of high-quality, understandable communications to residents throughout the process. In PutkiremonttiPlus projects, house shareholders have an opportunity to influence the repairs conducted in their housing company. Resident evenings are held during the process to discuss the project, and surveys are conducted to gather comments and feedback from shareholders and residents.
In 2008, the PutkiremonttiPlus model received an honourable mention for its compherehensive communications in the Housing Company Action of the Year competition organized by the Finnish Real Estate Federation. In 2010, Vahanen’s project management and communications were also noted in the Replumbing of the Year award, as the winning housing company Nallenpolku As Oy used the PutkiremonttiPlus service in its project.
