The Company has fully equipped Research & Development centre with latest tools & technologies, skilled & experienced manpower. The Centre has been recognized by the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research, Ministry of Science & Technology, and Government of India since 1985.
The prime objective of the R&D activities are to develop new technologies to meet the customer needs, continuously improve upon the process specification and techniques for optimum utilization of resources. R&D is also committed for consistency in quality comparable to the national standards of its existing products and development of new higher variant of existing products as well as new hi- tech products to meet the customer`s requirements.
The REIL R&D activities are aimed at achieving Corporate Mission by addressing customer expectations through development of new products and up-gradation of existing products/ processes to deliver competitive, economic and reliable products/ solutions while protecting the intellectual property rights

R&D, through Company’s country wide network, gets feedback on existing & new requirements. The inputs are analyzed and transformed into quality products that are accurate, reliable & cost effective. Besides development of new products, the R&D has been providing Engineering support to various internal agencies in respect of existing products and processes. The Company has also directed its resources towards development of products, leading to import substitution.
