NiagaraSoftware Maintenance Agreement (SMA) Service

SHARE

The Niagara Software Maintenance Agreement (SMA) is designed to assure access to the latest Niagara Framework® technology and cyber security patches. Systems Integrators (SIs) and other service providers overseeing Niagara deployments are better able to update their projects in a timely manner when their customers are covered by a SMA. SMA is another tool they have to work effiently, spending less time on back-office tasks like licensing and more time for high-value activities that call on their expertise in diagnosing and fixing operational issues.

Enterprise License Management

Tridium`s open distribution model and open-protocol approach have made our Niagara Framework the smart building industry`s most popular platform for gaining data access across commercial building equipment and devices. Today, any institutional, corporate or government entity with a large building portfolio is likely to be a Niagara Customer. This success has been fueled by Tridium`s over 20 years licensing Niagara Framework software when purchased embedded in hardware from a wide variety of original equipment manufacturers. This brings many advantages to our end-customers, which can be a challenge to anyone responsible for managing software maintenance agreements (SMA) for a large number of Niagara-based assets. Tridium has developed an Enterprise Software Maintenance Agreement (ESMA) process to solve this issue. The ESMA process generates a single bill of materials (BOM) for Niagara licenses with a single SMA license renewal date that is easy to quote, process and understand. Enterprises with an inventory of Niagara products that includes a percentage of expired and soon-expiring software maintenance agreements can benefit from attractive discounts and generous `grace` periods to get those licenses aligned.
