Soil Vapor Extraction Service

Soil Vapor Extraction involves applying a vacuum to contaminated soils to remove volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The process is known by different names (SVE and Soil Vacuum Extraction, for example), and it can include variations that remove groundwater along with vapors (in processes known as High Vacuum SVE, Multi-Phase Extraction, or Dual Phase Extraction).

Envent will work with your team to conduct a pilot test to determine if these remediation techniques can be effective at your spill site. If the answer is “yes,” we will then assist you in designing a complete system for your site.

Envent equipment available for SVE pilot tests include:

• Vapor extraction vacuum blower and motor
• Water knock-out pot
• Flow meters
• Air dilution valves
• Vacuum gauges
• Control panels
• Base skid or trailer mounted
• Regenerative blower
• Centrifugal blower
• Positive displacement blower
• Liquid ring blower

Equipment needed to perform a sparging air-injection technique (also referred to as “in situ air stripping” or “in situ volatilization”) include:

• Thermal oxidizer (50 – 6000 CFM)
• Catalytic oxidizer (100 – 1000 CFM)
• Granular activated carbon (100 – 20,000 lb Units)
• Liquid scrubbers
• Chillers/condensers/heaters
