Associated Engineering`s experience comprises solid waste management plans for small communities, large urban centers, and regional municipalities, in Canada and overseas. Our approach to solid waste management integrates the principles of waste reduction, reuse, recycling, recovery, with the needs of community, and the requirements of our clients. While we consider landfilling for wastes that cannot be reused, recycled or recovered, we also assess options such as composting and incineration/waste-to-energy facilities.
Gaining public and stakeholder acceptance is a crucial component of the solids waste management planning process. To this end, we assist our clients in establishing and working with local public and technical advisory committees, preparing for public open houses and information meetings, and making presentations, as required.
