Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Services

Despite the best prevention efforts an oil spill can occur.  Therefore, the next criteria of concern is regarding the control of an oil spill.  The SPCC plan must document the procedures for the control of an oil spill.  Control includes containment, emergency contact information for control personnel and emergency services contact information. So even if an oil spill occurs control measures can be used for the prevention of a spill reaching navigable waters.

The SPCC Plan must be accessible to the EPA for an on-site inspection during normal working hours. A copy of the SPCC Plan must be maintained at any facility which is usually attended for at least four hours per day. Otherwise, the copy must be kept at the nearest field office.

As required by the EPA our SPCC Plans are certified by a Professional Engineer. The SPCC outlines prevention, control, response and cleanup. The SPCC Plan identifies personnel training and discharge prevention procedures. The SPCC Plan will identify where the training logs, briefings and documentation are maintained.
