Stormwater Management Services
TRWE President Tory Walker began consulting in the area of storm water management before many people knew that storm water was being regulated. For over 20 years, Mr. Walker has assisted his clients with extremely challenging storm water quality issues. The TRWE team has since prepared many water quality reports and designed numerous types of construction and post-construction BMPs. We have been called upon to redesign BMPs which were poorly designed by others and have inspected BMPs for proper maintenance and effectiveness.Hydromodification Management
Recent storm water permits in Southern California have begun to focus much more on the problem of hydromodification within the region’s receiving waters. Hydromodification is typically associated with excessive erosion of waterways upstream and subsequent sediment deposition downstream, usually due to modifications in the watershed. The most common example of a watershed change causing hydromodification is the covering of land with impervious surfaces, which deprives the waterways of sediment, while increasing runoff volumes, durations and peaks in those same waterways.
Hydromodification impacts vary widely, based on a number of complex factors. Consequently, there remains little comprehension among engineering and scientific communities of how these factors interact to cause impacts. Our extensive and broad experience in hydrologic sciences, hydraulic modeling, river restoration and sedimentation & erosion allow us to integrate these disciplines and thus help our clients with innovative hydromodification management solutions. These solutions include optimizing onsite BMPs, studying fluvial systems for susceptibility and preparing bioengineered rehabilitation plans.
