GPI and its staff have played significant roles in the development and use of simulation models for a wide variety of projects across the United States including:

Simulation modeling provides numerical measures of traffic performance, (throughput, speed, delays, queues, travel time, stops and air quality) that are essential to evaluate and compare existing and proposed scenarios and arrive at optimal solutions. Animation sequences are also developed to visualize traffic operations over time. These are particularly useful for decision makers and the public to see expected conditions for themselves. Animations of existing conditions are also provided for knowledgeable local residents to verify the accuracy of the analysis and gain confidence in the results.

With this technology, any proposal affecting traffic operations can be analyzed and visualized.
