Objective of ALBAPRO is the optimization and technical utilisation of ALBA-Flocs systems to treat effluents and produce biomass for further value creation. The general aim of DEMOWOOD is to investigate concepts for upgrading and maximising the added value of waste wood in value chains such as pulp production for paper products, particle board production and large scale energy recovery systems. ECO°PAPER aims at developing sustainable, resource-conserving packaging using residuals and waste products. The FLEXINAD project is intended to develop practical methods for users, especially in the flexographic printing and packaging sector, to help them avoid adhesion and printability problems caused by insufficient wetting and adhesion to substrates.
LOCIMAP – Low Carbon Industrial Manufacturing Parks. This research project will identify the practical paths which Europe can take to grow a revitalised low carbon industrial base. A major objective is to achieve much closer integration in manufacturing complexes so they can operate at increased efficiency both of energy and material use, and with lower emissions.
The NEWGENPAK ITN is an interdisciplinary research training network of 8 European universities, 3 research institutes and 6 enterprises. These partners offer an extensive resource of complimentary expertise which encompasses the entire package from the nanoscale, through the fabrication of component materials, to the final delivery of the concept. The primary aim is to create a European training network designed to improve the career prospects of its 10 Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) and 2 Experienced Researchers (ERs) in both the public and private sector.
PowerBonds will give answers to the following two questions: “What should we measure to predict paper performance in the end-use applications?” and “How can the performance be improved at the lowest cost”?
The objective of SoLaPack is the development of concepts to ensure that critical substances cannot migrate in to the packaged food.
SUBWEX aims at developing an integrated process chain to produce high value-added additives for the food, nutraceuticals and cosmetics sectors and at the same time feedstock for the paper industry.
