Underground Storage Tanks

SHARE
According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA), approximately 585,000 underground storage tanks (USTs) store petroleum or hazardous substances nationwide. Leaking underground storage tanks contaminante subsurface soils and pose a threat to groundwater quality. In Illinois, the Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM) and the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) are the regulatory agencies responsible for the management of UST related issues to ensure the protection of public health and safety.
