Is the economic environment in your industry more dynamic than 5 years ago? 1 year ago?  It’s the same in the waste industry. Perhaps your personnel was given a simple quote for a location, however, you found out that it was typically just the start. For every quoted fee there can be additional fees (example: environmental fee) and these fees can change from month to month, almost arbitrarily. How are you to know what’s best and stay on top of it? Not only are corporate mangers challenged to tighten the belt and cut cost, they need to do so long term with little disruption. One area that is either inaccurately ‘procured’ or simply overlooked is your waste bill. Auditing of prospective customer bills have revealed that in as many as four out of five cases, unnecessary fees, overcharges or other errors are present and being paid.
