Construction Recyclate Management (CRM)

In 2011 we started our own Waste Management Company – Construction Recyclate Management (CRM), which we use to maximise recycling, store materials for re-use (exchange between projects) and centrally track our company’s waste, recycling and re-use statistics. This Dawnus subsidiary enables us to make good our Halving Waste to Landfill promise along with those made in our Sustainability, Timber and Office Recycling Policies.

2010 Waste Minimisation Award

Dawnus were 2010 Winners of Constructing Excellence Wales Waste Minimisation Award. This award recognises the significant achievement of sending zero waste to landfill on the Swansea Quadrant Groundworks Project. Our reuse strategies meant that over 18,000 tonnes of excavated material, including tarmac, concrete, paving, kerbs, bricks and block was processed to make high quality aggregates and reused on this site and others. This also had to effect of saving 715 lorry movements to and from site saving and also reduced traffic and disruption to Swansea City Centre.
