The utility industry will see new and progressively more restrictive wastewater treatment standards that will apply to wastewater discharges from utility coal-fired power plants as part of the Steam Electric Guidelines changes over the next few years. Solids treatment today is met by a PondX® facility that meets typical limits such as Total Suspended Solids and pH. With the major equipment components of a PondX® facility, Charah can easily add minor upgrades to treat chemical constituents. The upgraded PondX® facility will provide one system that effectively meets the solids removal and meets the expected treatment requirements with minimum capital and operating costs.
