There is no open market in which to compare business water rates and charges in England and Wales, although Scotland has moved to a more open market. Many companies will assume their water bills are correct and may miss the opportunity to receive a refund. Even if your current water supplier has re-banded your site or already given you a rebate for overcharges, there may still be scope for further savings via a water audit.
The CUB water audit service is in partnership with WAS and works under no obligation if you are not due a water saving. CUB will not charge you for any initial audit enquiries; if there is no rebate, our service is free of charge. If our investigation reveals that your charges are incorrect we will simply agree a share of savings scheme.
On completion of the water audit service, CUB will provide your business with an audit recommendation report which will highlight any water savings based on the following factors:
- Incorrect billing
- Incorrect charging bands
- Incorrect historical charging bands
I have a small business – do I still qualify for this service?
The answer to that question is YES – 75% of all commercial water charges are incorrect. Many small businesses are not large consumers of water; we regularly achieve savings for low usage organisations that are found to be on incorrect charging structures.
