Water Footprinting & Management Service
The recent drought warnings have brought the issues around water resources into focus; low cost abundant supplies can no longer be taken for granted. Climate change (water pattern changes), agriculture and a rising population all have a huge impact upon water resources. A recent Defra white paper “Water for Life” indicates there will be major changes to the water abstraction licensing scheme for industrial users; costs will rise in the future for all users and there will be more stringent conditions for abstraction. A water footprint is the ideal starting point to understand the way your business uses water; identifying cost reduction opportunities whilst managing risk.
We can work with you to scope, calculate, understand, manage and reduce your water footprint. Whilst there are currently no agreed standards for developing a water footprint, we adhere to the principles of the most appropriate international standards, e.g. 14064 and GRI Water Protocol, to ensure a robust approach and methodology.
- Allows you to measure, manage and reduce your carbon emissions and energy consumption (lowers operating costs and increases profitability)
- Signifies your sustainability commitment to stakeholders (enhanced corporate responsibility profile)
- An independently verified water footprint gives credibility to your reporting
- Compliance with existing and future regulations
- Can form part of a wider Sustainability Action Plan.
