The Health and Safety Executives Approved Code of Practice(L8) recommends that a risk assessment should be carried out on water systems, where there is deemed to be a foreseeable risk of proliferation and exposure to Legionella bacteria. It is important for clients to ensure a high quality risk assessment is provided to identify all associated risks and that full compliance is achieved with HSE’s ACoP L8. GENEX pride ourselves on the quality of our risk assessments and recognise that any control strategy adopted is based on the findings of such a document. We therefore believe that the time and effort we dedicate to our risk assessments yields both confidence from our clients and ensures a thorough and effective control strategy for future years. In order to maintain the quality of our risk assessments all of our engineers are independently trained to at least City and Guilds and have at least three years experience of risk assessing.

The quality of service delivered by any contractor is paramount within the water management industry as the risk associated with legionella control predominantly lies with the employer or person who creates the risk and can not be delegated to the contractor. Any client therefore needs to have confidence in the level of service provided. GENEX provide an independent audit and verification service in which all procedures and documentation is checked for compliance with the relevant legislation. This high end consultancy service is provided by one of our Chartered Engineers and allows any client to identify any shortfall in their current service provision.

Implementing an effective control and management scheme is a fundamental part of controlling any risk attributed to any property. Whether it is a complex industrial site, office, hospital or public facility we have the knowledge and ability to provide and deliver bespoke control schemes through our team of experienced Service Technicians and Engineers. We are able to offer a true nationwide service and can accommodate any size of portfolio. Monitoring and recording of these activities is provided by our WebServe system whereby engineers log in real time all site parameters and raise any non-conformance reports  instantaneously. Clients have the ability to remotely access all data to verify and validate all our site activities providing a true and open account of work progress.

Legionella awareness is a key requirement of the current legislation and due to the complexity of the relevant requirements and the mechanisms in which legionella can proliferate, training of both management and site operatives is essential. GENEX offer bespoke training packages tailored to meet both legislative and client requirements. Training can either be delivered at the client’s preferred location or at our training centre in Harrogate.

System Modifications and Clean and Chlorination’s

Following site analysis, remedial works on installed services may be required to return the water process back to what would be considered a low risk. Using trained and accredited personnel GENEX can offer an effective service resulting in minimal site disruption.

Closed Circuit analysis and Treatment

GENEX can provide complete control of your boiler water treatment programme via programmed and planned analysis of water quality and the provision and addition of suitable scale and corrosion inhibitors.

Swimming Pool and Spa Water Management

Through our ISRM trained personnel GENEX can provide complete management, control and advice to any size swimming pool and can tailor service visits to meet individual client requirements.

Water Treatment and Bacterial Control

Where temperature control of water services is difficult to achieve, or where problems in water quality may be present, some systems may require specialist treatment in the form of continual biocide dosing. GENEX have experience in the design, management and operation of several of these solutions including chlorine dioxide, sliver and copper ions and ultra-violet light, ensuring that the most effective and efficient solution is applied to each system. We are not associated directly with any manufacturer and as such can offer the client a truly independent and uninfluenced design solution to any water management issue.
