Our staff has comprehensive knowledge of the federal and state regulations that govern air quality and waste management. In fact, several of our specialists are former employees of the state and federal agencies that monitor compliance with these regulatory programs, and we are in regular contact with these agencies to keep abreast of the latest changes in environmental policy.

From the preparation of permit applications through the completion of monitoring and compliance audit reports, our staff can address all of your air quality and waste management needs. We can also prepare Risk Management Plans (RMP); Preparedness, Prevention, and Contingency Plans (PPC); and Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure Plans (SPCCP), to assess the impact your business may have on the surrounding community’s air quality in the event of a release, and devise the measures you will take to prevent such accidental releases. In addition, we prepare waste characterization studies to determine the proper regulatory disposal requirements associated with your waste materials.

Our staff can also assist you in determining the environmental history of a proposed development site in fulfillment of your due diligence obligations. In the event due diligence identifies evidence of possible environmental contamination, our staff professionals can undertake further investigation and design remediation measures.

Preservation HRG provides a wide array of waterways permitting and design services that are targeted at preserving our streams, rivers and watersheds. Our services help you comply with current regulations while ensuring that these water resources can be enjoyed by future generations. Our comprehensive watershed management services include assessing water quality, identifying sources of potential runoff and pollution, designing BMPs, engineering stream restoration and stabilization measures, and preparing watershed assessments and river conservation plans. We also assist with the management of watershed alliances and help watershed organizations apply for the funding they need. In addition, we prepare and update Act 167 Stormwater Management Plans.

As recognized experts on National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permitting, we have offered numerous presentations on NPDES regulations to government and industry throughout the region. We are also a recognized expert in obtaining NPDES Phase 2 Permits from the Department of Environmental Protection for post-construction stormwater management facilities. Whether your project involves stormwater, sewage treatment, industrial wastewater treatment, or mining, we can assist you with all of your NPDES needs, from permit application preparation through evaluation of the draft permits issued by regulatory agencies. Over the years, we have written many stormwater management ordinances for local governments and have helped countless developers comply with these regulations on their commercial, residential and industrial projects. When wetlands will be impacted by a project, we identify and delineate these wetlands, prepare design alternatives to minimize the impact, and prepare the required permit applications if impact is unavoidable. We also design mitigation measures and complete construction and post-construction monitoring to ensure the continued survival of the aquatic life that inhabited these wetlands.

In addition, HRG provides services such as HEC-RAS hydraulic modeling and structure design, scour analysis, dam breach analysis, floodplain analysis, and erosion and sedimentation control design to help you obtain water obstruction and encroachment permits from the Department of Environmental Protection and Section 404 Permits from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
