PUNCH Consulting Engineers has designed and supervised the construction of numerous wastewater infrastructure schemes for both onsite treatment and discharge to public infrastructure. PUNCH has also been involved in the design of on-site wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, outfall structures, and the obtaining of wastewater discharge licenses from Local Authorities. PUNCH was involved in the Design and Contract Supervision of the Limerick Main Drainage scheme for Limerick County Council which included 19km of large diameter Interceptor Sewer, two major crossings of the Shannon River, pumping stations, outfall structures, and the structural and hydraulic rehabilitation of the existing network using on line replacement and lining techniques. The scheme also included the construction of a new waste water treatment works and the design of a 5km length of 600mm diameter watermain from the Dock Road to Ennis Road. The success of this project was highlighted when it was awarded the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland (ACEI) Annual Award 2006.
