Water Supply Services
Significant costs savings can be made by using an alternative to mains water supply. We have helped a wide range of businesses and individuals secure water supplies from boreholes, surface water abstraction or rainwater harvesting. We work at all scales from public water supplies and large industrial units to individual private properties. We can provide a turnkey service, from initial feasibility assessment to borehole installation, surface water pumps and water treatment systems, if required.
The wide range of experience of Hafren Water, both technically and geographically, and our ability to think laterally, means that we can devise innovative solutions to supply water, which we believe are unique in the sector. Provision of water supplies in seemingly challenging conditions such as remote locations, islands, mountainous, arid or urban areas are all possible.
We provide the following services:
- Borehole feasibility assessment: assessment of local geology/hydrogeology is undertaken and a brief report prepared summarising the likelihood of successful waterwell installation and any associated issues
- Borehole installation : borehole design and pump specifications, contract and drilling supervision, drilling tenders
- Borehole rehabilitation : re-commissioning of abandoned waterwells
- Groundwater quality surveys : sample collection and supervision of laboratory analysis, interpretation of results
- Design, operation and analysis of single and/or group borehole pumping tests
- Determination of optimum pumping rates : assessment provides you with the most cost-efficient method of achieving your required water volume
- Groundwater risk assessments for effluent discharge to ground (ie soakaways): required for new sewage treatment/soakaways
- Regional groundwater assessments
- Abstraction licence applications : an abstraction licence is required if you will use more than 20 m³/day
- Abstraction borehole design and preparation of drilling specifications
- Rainwater harvesting
- Surface water assessments
- Reservoir planning and construction
