Water Treatments & Central Heating Corrosion Inhibitor Services
Our central heating corrosion inhibitor solutions have saved our customers 1000s of pounds. 45% of heating systems in the UK are not performing efficiently. This can be due to mechanical faults, but most of the time the cause is more worrying and invasive if left untreated. Poor or no water treatments cause destructive corrosion and bacteria growth. This causes system blockages, damage to pumps and even perforation of radiators and pipes. This could be avoided with the simple addition of chemical treatment.
The Brodex Solution
We perform a simple test of the water in your heating system, these results enable us to provide you with a diagnosis of the condition of the water and propose a course of action to resolve any issues and improve the system efficiency.
On-site testing service
Our water treatments engineer takes a sample of the water from your heating system and performs a test to evaluate the current status of your system water.
We test for:
- TDS (total dissolved solids)
- Suspended solids
- Ph
- Soluble Iron
- Copper
- Clarity
- Inhibitors
If required our water treatments technicians take a microbiological test for off-site laboratory analysis. Full Health & Safety Coshh data sheets provided.

The Treatment Procedure
- The treatment procedure causes minimal disruption.
- The system is drained and Power-flushed through (under pressure to remove debris) with a cleaning agent.
- It is then thoroughly flushed with fresh water and closed off.
- At a chosen dosing point (usually the header tank) our cocktail of water treatment chemicals are added – Corrosion Inhibitor – Biocide – Anti scaling agent.
- All COSHH (health & safety) regulations are complied with and a permanent label is attached to the boiler indicating the chemicals used and dose quantities. A completion certificate is issued for your records.
