Typically, testing is done by obtaining “personal” samples collected by a cassette placed within the worker’s breathing zone. Testing can also involve “area” samples collected at a fixed location. ECG submits the samples for analysis, evaluates the results, and then prepares a report that includes a summary of the findings and recommendations for the client.
The worker exposure testing process usually involves:
- A walk-through assessment of the workplace
- Industrial hygiene testing on one or more workers during an eight-hour shift
- Laboratory analysis
- A verbal summary of ECG’s findings
- A written report
