The TPLAN 3D Planning Workstation is a computer system for preoperative planning. The pre-surgical planning begins when the TPLAN workstation converts the CT scan of a patient’s joint into three-dimensional surface models of the bones. The surgeon then uses the TPLAN workstation to select their chosen implant and, using displayed axes of the bones and anatomical landmarks, places the implant components in positions deemed optimal by the surgeon for fit and alignment with the patient’s anatomy. The TPLAN workstation then creates a pre-operative surgical plan based on those surgeon choices for use by the TCAT robot.
